Why are there no longer any tips from the instructor?

In case it hasn't been noticed, the blogs aren't always frequented by students, and very often there is only a list of questions and requests for help, but no answer.

And then 10 o'clock comes.

The questions that don't have hints aren't particularly difficult and don't need hints. People just need to look at the notes and actually read them.

Agree with Cahryn. A tip or two wouldnt hurt.

The layout of the notes is rather confusing. I find that I can follow in class but if I look at it on my own then it seems complicated. Also we are not meant to teach ourselves the course otherwise we would not need to be taught.

Are we to assume the Carbon has an initial velocity or that it is stationary?

ITT: Students that read that question then go straight to the help blog to know what to do.

I don't that most students use the help blog right away to try to get people to give them answers. They use it after they've tried every resort they can think of. Like the other poster said, the notes are very confusing for me too and I need to rely on the lectures.

Yes, exactly. The notes aren't too hard to follow while we're in class, because they're brought up one at a time. But by the time the slide is full, and we look at it on our own, the slides are too crowded to really make sense of, especially if you're learning this subject for the first time. I don't go to the blog as a first try...often I actually forget the blog exists, but when I do come here as a last resort, it's very rare that I actually find a resolved and well explained tip.

Note to the instructor: the clicker questions in class are only conceptual questions, but they don't help us (or at least me) to understand how to use the equations to solve the problems. Also, very often it's assumed that certain concepts should be obvious to us, but we're learning this for the first time, and so they're not.

If adjustments could be made so that it would be easier for us to grasp and retain the material, that would be great!
Thanks!
